Windsor's popular history traces Black civilizations from ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt through the empires of Ghana and Mali, arguing that the ancient Hebrews were a Black people whose history belongs inside African history. Reprinted more than a dozen times, it became one of the most widely read Black history books in barbershops, churches, and study groups.
