Subtitled "An Epistemic Novel," this work by the Ghanaian novelist follows a study circle gathered around an ancient Egyptian teacher's legacy, using story and dialogue to ask how Africans can recover their own ways of knowing. It continues the project of Armah's later fiction — rebuilding African memory and education from African sources rather than colonial ones. The book is part history lesson, part philosophical quest, told as narrative.
