The former SNCC chairman once known as H. Rap Brown sets out, as Imam Jamil Al-Amin, his argument that genuine revolution must be built on a divine program — found, he holds, in the Qur'an and the example of the Prophet Muhammad — rather than on slogans and ideology alone. He critiques the U.S. Constitution and Western materialism from an Islamic framework and presents the Five Pillars as a structure for personal and communal transformation. The book documents his passage from 1960s Black Power militancy to Islamic leadership.
